Commemorative coin is dedicated to Larix Polonica Racib ( Pinaceae family), a disappearing species of valuable conifer wood which is widespread in Ukrainian Carpathians and on the endangered-species list of Ukraine. Larix Polonica Racib is cultivated in forests, parks and botanical gardens, in particular, in Kedrynskyi and Skyt Maniavskyi forest reserves

On the coin obverse set in the wreath made of images of plants and animals there is engraved the small National Emblem of Ukraine and a four line legend: on the silver coin УКРАЇНА, 10, ГРИВЕНЬ, 2001- (Ukraine/ 10/ hryvnia/ 2001), as well as the designation of the metal, its fineness and its weight in fineness. On the coin there is also placed the logotype of the NBU Mint.
On the coin reverse there is depicted a pine branch with a cone and the circular inscriptions: МОДРИНА ПОЛЬСЬКА (Polish Larch) - above and LARIX POLONICA RACIB - below
