The coin is dedicated to the Pereiaslav Rada of January 8 (18), 1654, an important event in the period of the national and liberation war of the Ukrainian people, when the Assembly of foremen, Cossacks, petty bourgeoisie and peasants voted for Ukraine joining the Russia as political self-government.

On the coin obverse against the background of a threefold arch of an Orthodox temple there is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine with the coin denomination: 10 ГРИВЕНЬ (10 Hryvnia) under it; on the right in three lines - designation of the metal, its fineness and the coin weight in fineness. There is also the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine and a the semicircular inscription УКРАЇНА (Ukraine); beneath - the coin mintage year: 2004
