Series: Flora and Fauna
The coin is dedicated to a mammalian of cetacean species, a representative of the dolphin family in the fauna of Ukraine, a narrow-areal relic subspecies, the habitat of which is the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Azov Dolphin is on the endangered-species list of Ukraine and into the European Red-List.

On the coin obverse set in the wreath made of images of plants and animals there is engraved the small National Emblem of Ukraine and a legend: on the silver coin: УКРАЇНА, 10, ГРИВЕНЬ, 2004, (Ukraine/ 10/ hryvnia/ 2004), as well as the designation of the metal, its fineness and its weight in fineness. There is also the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine
On the coins reverse there are two Azov Dolphins are depicted with air bubbles in the water, beneath - there is a seaweeds and circular inscriptions: АЗОВКА (Azov Dolphin) (right) and PHOECENA PHOECENA RELICTA ABEL (left).
