The coin has been struck to commemorate the millennium of the Liadova Cave Monastery of Beheading of St. John the Baptist founded by Anthony of the Caves. It is one of the oldest orthodox monasteries and is often called Podolian Athos. The monastery lies on the left bank of the Dniester River near the village of Liadova, which is surrounded by unique natural sites in the middle reaches of the Dniester.

Obverse: above, there is the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE); to the right, there is the Small National Coat of Arms of Ukraine, the coin`s issue year 2013, and a stylized composition with Antony of the Caves in the center, against the background of wing-like cliffs; beneath, there is an Old Rus ornament and the semicircular legend ДВАДЦЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (TWENTY HRYVNIAS).
Reverse: there is a composition consisting of a stylized fragment of the Cave Monastery, a cross procession of monks and pilgrims, a pigeon (to the left, above), and rays symbolizing the Holy Spirit. There is the circular legend ЛЯДІВСЬКИЙ СВЯТО-УСІКНОВЕНСЬКИЙ СКЕЛЬНИЙ МОНАСТИР (LIADOVA CAVE MONASTERY OF BEHEADING OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST).
